Vasily Kondratuk - Just Fishing 6.5x10.5 ob 1954

Vasily Kondratuk, a Ukrainian artist, was born in Kiev and graduated from the Kiev Institute of Art. As a member of the Russian Army in WWII, Kondratuk suffered a near fatel wound to the face and neck. His valor in combat earned him many medals and acclaim as a patriotic hero. Many of his paintings were devoted to the War and his fellow soldiers. During the Soviet Era, he enjoyed the official status as an Honorable Artist of the USSR and an Honorable Artist of the Ukraine.
