Alexander Artamonov - Wash Day On The Volga 12x13.25 ob 1961


Alexander Artamonov (born 1919) is both an Honorable Artist of the Ukraine and an Honorable Artist of the USSR. He completed his formal art education at the prestigious Leningrad Art Academy. Artamonov served as a Colonel in the World War II and many of his paintings were devoted to Russia's struggle against Germany. His works are in the collections of the State museums in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, and Lvov, and have been featured in international exhibits in France, Italy, Norway, and Australia. He is a retired professor of the Kiev Institute of Art.
